Top-Stop Twist nipper

Nipper for top leader reduction.

To avoid the top leader getting too long, you can use the Top-Stop nipper of Danish design, which makes specific cuts to the cambial ring of the leader.

These cuts typically reduce the length-growth of the leader by 30% and do so by reducing the sap flow to the terminal bud.

By reducing the leader length you achieve a more visually-pleasing, denser tree with less distance between the whorls.

The new twist method

By using the new twist method, you'll save a lot of time on the treatment of your trees.

You only have to give each tree one squeeze and a 45 degrees twist, and you'll reduce the sap flow sufficiently.

When?

You will achieve the best effect with the Top-Stop nipper when using it when the terminal buds swell and until the new growth is a maximum of 3-5 cm.
